Hidden Gems – Made to Awe -jewelry design exhibition

A new gallery – Gao Shan specializing in jewelry has opened the 2nd November. The first exhibition is showcasing the artwork of four major Finnish jewelry designers.

Hidden Gems – Made to Awe exhibition presents the creations of Eero Hintsanen, Chao-Hsien Kuo, Heli Kauhanen and Harri Syrjänen. In the exhibition, the visitor can see also visual art made by the owner of the gallery, Ding Yi. All the visual art and the jewelry pieces are for sale. The exhibition tells true stories about the life in Finland.

 

Up In the Air -necklace (2018) by Heli Kauhanen  is made out of anodized titanium and silver. Size of the necklace is 21 x 27 cm.

 

Black Forest sunshine -earrings (2018) by Chao-Hsien Kuo are made out of sterling silver, 18K yellow gold , 24K keum boo -gold foil and rutile quartz (picture on top). Sizes of the earrings are 4,8 x 9,4cm. Tri -necklace (2018) by Eero Hintsanen is made out of sterling silver. Dimensions of the necklace are 14,5 x 20 x 1,8 cm.

 

Hihna vedolla- brooch (2009) by Harri Syrjänen (picture on the left), is a timeless classic, made out of aluminum and sterling silver. Size of the brooch is 7 x 5 cm. In the right picture, the painting is by gallery owner Ding Yi. The name of the painting is Circus (2015). Materials used are Rice paper, Chinese Ink, pigments and tea. Size of the canvas is 48 x 139cm.

Hidden Gems – Made to Awe is open until 10th December. Venue: Galleria Gao Shan, Korkeavuorenkatu 5.

Open on weekdays from 11 am to 6 pm. On Saturdays from noon to 4 pm. Closed on Sundays and on the Independence day of Finland 6th December.
